Santa Barbara Municipal Tennis Courts

Center Court
Municipal Tennis Facility
The City of Santa Barbara has always had a strong commitment to tennis, beginning in the 1930’s with the construction of 12 public courts and a large wooden stadium at the Municipal Tennis Facility. Today you can enjoy tennis in Santa Barbara year-round on 34 well-maintained public courts. Located at five different tennis facilities, 17 of these courts offer lighted play weekdays until 9pm. This "sport for life" is popular locally with both adults and juniors.
For general play at any of the public tennis locations listed below, anyone 18 and older must purchase a daily or annual tennis permit, pro-rated throughout the year. Youth under 18 plays for free. You can purchase permits at the courts, which are randomly monitored, or at the Parks and Recreation Office, 620 Laguna Street. Phone 805-564-5418.
